Centre for Nano Science and Engineering at IISc engaged NV Dynamics to conduct detailed noise and vibration survey at their facilities; the task was intended around assessing the existing levels of noise and vibration exposure to occupants and to determine any critical frequencies that are likely to affect the performance of the installed equipment.
Key equipment and occupant movement in the facility area were mapped and measurement locations were identified for assessments. Seismic grade vibration sensors and high sensitivity omni directional microphone were configured at multiple locations spread over the facility.
Sound pressure levels in conjunction with peak particle velocity values were evaluated over the measurement period. Detailed data analysis and technical reporting were made on the existing severity levels and recommendations to address some of vibration severity concerns. Noise absorption plans with achievable reduction to the ambient noise were also recommended.
